Thread lifting is an alternative to a surgical facelift, and just like other medical procedures, it has indications and limitations. It doesn’t involve any cuts or incisions, but just injections. During the procedure, local anaesthesia will be administered. Dr Tladi will implant thin, dissolvable sutures underneath your skin using a thin needle or cannula. She will pull your skin tight around your neck, forehead or torso. The sagging areas will be tightened and reshaped, making those areas more visibly smoother.

The composition of the threads will then initiate a healing response which will improve the skin’s overall quality. When the skin absorbs the sutures, the threads begin to act on the deeper layers of the skin. The body gets stimulated and produces its own collagen. This action continues to take place over time, which in turn helps increase the volume of the saggy areas and restores the face's shape.

Recovery after a thread lift is minimal. Swelling and bruising may be experienced. You may be able to go back to work right away. Results may be seen immediately after the procedure, and you may notice more results when the swelling and bruising subside. It is essential that you avoid rubbing your face vigorously and sleeping on your side after the procedure, as it may interrupt the process. Dr Tladi will prescribe pain medication to ease pain and make you comfortable. Thread lifting results last for approximately 1 – 5 years.
